Situation

The competition from cheap handheld products and web based software are threatening the existence of the company. A cheaper and attractive solution is needed to fight against the competition and to sustain the company’s growth. A request to play the role of IT Development director.

Solution

Brainstorm sessions were organized together with marketing, sales and IT architecture colleagues. A proposal was prepared to develop a new board computer with colored touch screen, and web-based software solution for front-end keeping the proven back-end core functionality in-tact.

Results

A new board computer TopIQ was developed with colored touch-screen, graphical UI and a web-based trip planning and vehicle tracking application. The solution attracted new customers and was successfully launched in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
